February

As with all gardening some jobs depend on the weather at that time of the year, Start to prepare any area that will be used for new lawns, Aerate established lawns in dry weather, apply any moss killer if needed with lawn sand or liquid moss killer, rember any plant around the garden can be cleaned of dead leaves and branches.

Deciduous and container plants can be planted providing the ground is frost free and not to wet.

ROSES

HEATHERS

Check for signs of lifting and firm back into place any plants that has become loosened if soil is not waterlogged new plants can be planted,

VEGETABLES

Sow early peas, broad beans and onions/shallots if not already done, make sure they are covered with soil to stop birds from digging them up, early carrots can be sown under frames, continue picking winter vegetables and preparing the ground for the coming season.
